Written by Frances L.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n At Kingston Crossing turn left from WA 104 onto Hansville Road NE. Drive 4.8 miles and watch with eagle eyes for the sign and the not-so-bright blue mailbox on the left. Then travel a short distance up a shady, narrow driveway, and you will have reached Dragonfly Farms Nursery.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On July 1, twelve Master Gardeners and one dog enjoyed a tour given by owner Heidi Kaster of her gorgeous gardens and nursery. \u00a0What a treat for the eyes, and nose! And what an opportunity for a photographer. Snap snap snap!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And what stimulation for the creative gardener\u2019s imagination \u2013 there were many landscaping, new plant and garden art ideas. Flowers and trees, both native and exotic, of all types and hues, and sizes \u2013 some were huge, thrived in both sun and shade. Art works and sculptures were beautifully positioned amongst the plantings. I loved the gigantic saucer\u00a0 (just landed?) crawling, crusted and clustered with sedum, and some probed fleshy flowers like alien antennae.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The nursery and gardens are open to the public Thursday through Sunday. Being a Tuesday, we had this peaceful oasis to ourselves. We delighted in Heidi\u2019s enthusiasm (could anyone be more enthusiastic?) and benefited from her expertise for a whole hour, and then wandered the gardens and inevitably some of us purchased plants, while others sat and visited in dappled shade and absorbed the peace and warmth. It was an idyllic weather day.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the way home we visited and ate a delicious lunch at the General Store and Cafe in Port Gamble \u2013 we were hungry by then!<\/p>\n![\"SONY](\"http:\/\/jcmgf.org\/mg2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DragonFlyNurseryGroup-1-e1404498614210.jpg\")
